OUR SERVICE
Currently in 2024 the Carers Sitting Service provides over 1100 sitting hours per month.
We employ 18 fully qualified and DBS checked Care Support Workers, both male and female, who all meet the needs of our clients and conduct their work in a true, caring, and professional manner.
Who we are
The Carers Sitting Service is a Company Limited by Guarantee with charitable aims. The overall responsibility lies with the Directors of the Company. The Carers Sitting Service was established in March 2003.

Statement of Purpose
1.1 To preserve and protect the health and wellbeing of those cared for people with long-term physical, mental or sensory impairment or complex issues related to old age, within the family and home by offering a customized respite service to any one over the age of 18 years, through the provision of community based, trained, Care Support Workers to prevent Carer breakdown.
1.2 To provide a much needed home based night sitting respite service in the geographical area identifited by our statutory Partners.
1.3 To provide end of life care to the terminally ill and their Carers in their own homes, to include bed bathing, relief on pressure points and mouth care.
1.4 To provide personal care e.g toileting, assisting with moving and handling, transfer (NOT HOISTING) to commode, toilet, wheelchair, chair and bed, use of incontinence pads.
1.5 To offer skilled, flexible, practical, responsive care and a range of tailor-made appropriate activities to enable people who live in their own homes to have choices to achieve their optimum state of health and wellbeing.
1.6 To assist where necessary with domestic home care tasks such as food preparation at the client's home as well as cleaning, shopping and ironing.
1.7 To treat all people who work at and are supported by the Carers Sitting Service with respect and dignity.
1.8 To uphold the equality, diversity, human and citizenship rights of all the people we support, work with or visit.
1.9 To support individual choices and personal decision making as the right of all Service Users.
1.10 To respect individual requirements for privacy at all times and treat all information relating to Service Users and their families in a confidential manner.
1.11 To assist the Service User where necessary and possible in a crisis situation for example extreme weather conditions.
1.12 To monitor and regularly review the performance of our Service for quality assurance.
